Tried yesterday to obtain a Quote for Ferry Crossings next May. Everytime I get to the Accomodation Page a "Fault" comes up so I report the same by e-mail as instructed. Received an e-mail reply today asking me to call Motorsport Travel which I do asking to speak to the Guy whom had sent the E-Mail. Person at Motorsport Travel tells me "nobody of that name ere" so I try to explain my problem regarding their Web Site Quote System. " What did you want" he says. I say "a Ferry Quote". After a moments silence he says, "where from", Dover, Hull, Ireland etc , etc etc and goes on with a one breath European Geography lesson. I register my disapproval and amazement at his attitude and Hang Up. Just how do these people keep in Business. !!

Perhaps you've caught them on a bad day - they were good as gold when I dealt with them. :nenau

I have found that phoning the Ferry Companies, will result in a cheaper ticket than Motorsport can quote.
I just book direct with either P&O or Norfolk line depending on where I am going.

I also doubt that Motorsport could give you price for next May as the new fares may not have been announced.

Next years fares/schedules are available as I recently booked a Dover-Calais return for May.

Fares for next May are available on Brittany Ferries Web Site and also on the Motorsport Travel Site (managed to get a quote on line at last). However, not withstanding their previously reported poor attitude they are £3 more expensive than booking direct with Brittany Ferries.

Maybe it's as simple as you spelt accommodation wrong....? :D

Two c's and two m's....

I am wondering if they are suffering from side effects of getting to big, I have been using them for years and they always used to be much cheaper than booking direct and service used to be second to none. Its a shame to see them slipping.

Well I have nothing but praise for Motorsport Travel. They've always been more than helpful and always cheaper than 'going direct' or anywhere else. I had to change my arrangements last July from the bike to a car due to a hand injury. They re-did everything quickly and efficiently at as low a cost as possible (I checked with the ferry company and their costs was crazy). If it did come down to a mere £3, I'd still go with MT due to the excellent service I have always received.

However, is it possible that Mike phoned them with some attitude ? Problems on the net, the person who he expected to speak too 'not there' could all be factors, but still not an excuse if he did get 'attitude'. :nenau

I have used Motorsport in the past and obtained worthwhile discounts compared to those quoted by the ferry operators. Unfortunately this year (and looking ahead to 2008) they have invariably quoted a higher price than booking direct with the ferry companies.

Ditto.............but their best fares are with P&O and the other Dover ones.

They admit that they don't bother with Brittany Ferries as they're too dear usually
