Motorway sliproads

Chaps.
Why is it that after requesting "custom" as my prefered route type, then setting motorways to minimum, small roads to max and "A" roads to the middle (on a 2610), I still end up getting sent onto motorways? Even more irritating at each junction I'm directed to go up the offramp, round the roundabout, down the onramp and back on the motorway?

I think that you should forget using the GPS built in routing facility for finding "nice MC roads". I just doesn't work.

Put a topo paper map, or a scale 200000 roadmap, on your desk and use MapSource on the PC to create routes that follows the roads you want to ride. Check the route in detail and by using click-and-drag you can force the route onto your preferred roads.

Upload the route(s) to your GPS but before you use it remember to set "Off-route Recalculation" to "Off".
