At the risk of recieving a barrage of abuse, can I ask a simple question?
Re the steptoe code plug thread which I sort of understand, does the ignition need to be on or off when pulling the motronic fuse to reset the unit, or is this procedure un-necessary after changing the code plug pin connections?
y-piece, no cat and oem zorst. Came as standard with a yellow code plug.:hide

Ignition off, pull fuse #5 (for the 1150), wait 30 seconds, and reinsert fuse. Turn ignition on, fully open and close throttle a few times. Start bike, make a test run, and let us know if it made a difference. On my bike it did not unfortunately.

Tried it, didn't seem to make any difference, like yours, so I've put it back the way it was.
Thanks again for your help.

I wonder what difference people expect. ????

If the bike is running ok, leave it as it is. The "link" isn't a tuning aid.

And he motronic reset isn't really necessary, the motronic sets itself once you've ridden it. Your only showing the motronic/TPS when full throttle is reached.

Hi Chris,
Too bad it didn't work, but as Steptoe said: it isn't a miracle cure, but you won't know until you try. Good luck with the bike! Btw I tried because mine doesn't run quite as it should.

touchy, touchy:augie

I had assumed that the catcode link set the 'map' in the motronic unit to alter the fuelling of the injection system throughout the rev range. As I had changed the condition of the exhaust system by removing the cat I just wanted to see if changing the catcode plug link would significantly alter the way the engine performed. It is a bit subjective without the use of a dyno and I felt that there was no difference when I road-tested the bike. I tried it, didn't appear to do anything, so back to standard settings.
