i called in today at mottorad glasgow 2 book in for a 6K basic service - waz told by Blair at reception the earliest date would be 13/04/02005 - apparently the dealership has been flogging so many GS 1200 which require assembly, PDI etc which has put constraints on general bmw ownership - what the feck - existing owners are being compromised - the workshop was littered with various bikes including an old airhead - i even suggested i dump my own oil and do the filter / oil exchange however Blair informed me that this was an integral charge on the 6K service and and such i would incurr the cost of oil filter and lubricant etc - my other option is to take the bike back to southportsuperbikes who can accomodate me at short notice - on a positive note Blairs hair is looking so much neater these days !!!!

Not sure what point you're making here......as a BMW Motorrad dealer they have a responsibility towards ALL BMW motorcycle owners both old & new.

You can't expect them to simply drop everything just to service YOUR bike.......

I think a two-three week lead time for bike servicing is reasonable, especially at this time of the year.

Perhaps a more thoughtful owner would plan ahead & book ahead.........?

I think John Clark in Dundee have a free servicing slot on Tuesday 29th March.....but only for GS1150 Adventure in black.......

They will also complete the service without oil & filter change and without charging for same.......

BREAKING NEWS............

Word has just reached me that JC's are only doing yellow 1200's on Tuesday.....

.....best phone Brian Malcolm (01382 815993) on Tuesday to see when they are servicing black 1150 Adventure's......

However, the sales department will be open tomorrow, especially to sell you the yellow 1200GS you so obviously crave.....

Glad to be of help.

Cheers

a few weeks notice for a service? got my Adv serviced at motorrad last weekend, having had a Honda VFR800 previously and waiting 6-8 weeks for a service at One Wheels in edinburgh, I found the motorrad experience fine for the well organised person..... although I didn't care much for the 650CS loan bike  , but i suppose on a weekend all the other stuff is being tested out by potential customers....

I think Motarrad Central are closed every Monday so will definately be closed tomorrow.

Can't praise them enough by the way. Great Team.

You'll be lucky to get any bike serviced at any dealer in under 2 weeks at this time of year.

seems as though i was a tad optimistic in having the bike serviced at short notice - a bit of forward planning on my part would have overcome this
