The 2nd Welsh Weekender (See West Mids Section)
Due to work we couldn't meet the rest of the gang at the Centre on Friday night. So team 2 left Worcester around mid-day on Saturday.
The Team:
Ianj4ko (Ian) - Long time mate, ridden lots together on & off road. Seeing all the fun we've been having on the big bikes, he recently swapped his WR450 for the 950 KTM. This was his first outing on the orange beast and was determined to show it who was boss!
Mav (Jase) - Ridden with Jase twice before (hope to ride with him a lot more), he's a real James Bond character - a true gent with a licence for thrills! It was great to see him throw the HP2 around (first time I've seen a bike after two days of riding finish cleaner than it started!)
Mrs Louisdut (Nicky) - Showing the DRZ as a true dual sport bike on a mix of A roads, minor roads and lanes. Nicky's bike was renamed 'Dipstick' after I used it to test the depth of a puddle/pond. After riding/pulling it out and seeing the rear light full of water we all decided to find another route. (Jase has video of dipstick incident).
Louisdut (Louis) - PHEW! I feel safe now, as I got through the weekend without damaging the 1200, as I'm off on an 8000 mile adventure in 4 weeks time. (Yes - taking a 1200 to Eastern Europe! I could take a more 'reliable' bike 1150)
Just like this weekend, could have taken the 640 Adventure which would have been easier on the lanes, never seem to take the easy route!
A wet Soar y Mynydd (apparently the most remote Chapel in Wales)
Jase quickly picks up his bike after washing it in the stream. His face was a picture when he realised the bag with his clothes & sleeping bag were fully submerged.
Jase's 2nd attempt was a perfect crossing.
Ian giving it loads of throttle!
It was getting dark on Saturday's last lane.
Arrived at the Mountain Centre late, fair play to the lads, they'd warmed the place up for us. By the time we got to the pub it was quite lively, the locals were celebrating the rugby victory and the lads were celebrating a good days riding.
