Hi all
What significant differences can i expect between my 14k miles 2103 GS in comparison to a brand new 2017 GS. I have had all the engine swop, corrosion stuff, the stuck exhaust flap, useless heated grips stuff.. so while its not been perfect it has been an absolute hoot to have... Anybody sense any significant diffs... The new one could have quick shift thing on it..Is that any useful? Keyless Ignition sounds dodgy but... Any views happily accepted.

2017 bikes seem to be smoother and feel a bit slower (but arent) according to popular consensus. Personally, my most modern boxer experience before my 2017 GSA was an early Hex. Between the two, the latest bike is night and day better. Across everywhere.

There is a lot of material and comment in here, have a search.

Shift assist pro is handy - takes a while to get used to it. The 13 has a lighter crankshaft so it's prone to stalling whereas the later bike is less likely to suffer from the issue.

The heavier crank makes the bike feel slower. I had a 13, and it did feel a little more agile.

Newer bike has ABS pro, dynamic brake lighting and is a more refined bike.
Personally I don't like the keyless ride.

Traded it in at Ocean in Plymouth by any chance?

Had a 2013 model ( this is the 4th GS), just done the 600 mile service today. The heated grips are scorchio ( -7 today used summer gloves:green gri ), gearbox is a different league, slower ? Depends on your right wrist. Mine is standard so no gizmos, I like the red/silver/black engine combination , dials are larger. Did I say the gear change is a peach :D.
Not interested in the QS, over rated:augie

I may be in the same position. Current 2013 GS TE with new engine. Having heated grips that work could be a rea deall maker!!

Mine is freshly salted now...:augie see how the new improved paint will stand up:D Wish I had heated seat today, like I had on the RT...

My wife's 2013 GS WC is very revvy compared to my 2013 TC GSA - definitely prefer mine!!!!

Had the 2013 GS-LC, 2014 GS-LC and the 2015 GSA-LC.

I'm now on the latest E4 Sept 2016 bike.

2013 Bike..Lively snappy motor spins up quick with light crank, lively steering on fast bumpy bends without the steering damper, poor fueling around 2500/3300 rpm makes the bike a bit snatchy.

2016 Bike feels fully grown up. More relaxed with the heavy crank and has really good fueling, also the latest triple black feels very good on the road, in fact it feels as planted and as comfortable as my recent 2015 GSA. It's now a fully sorted bike.

Buy it you'll love it!....or better still wait and get the next model.

However, the current triple black is apparently being dropped and might be worth a thought as it's just a fab looking bike and will soon be unavailable.

Triple black GS has already ceased production apparently. I did have an order in, due delivery March 17 but its been cancelled by my dealer. If you want a TB then only option is finding a dealer who has an unregistered one in stock.

Had keyless on my 11 plate Mutlistrada. Got waved at by some workmen in their van whilst stuck in traffic! Thought they were admiring the Mutley. Got to my destination a few miles later, got off bike and frantically searched all my pockets for my key.........yep,.....it was in the top box key hole. Doh. Work droids were trying to tell me my key was there. Still, it stayed in on a good paced run along the local dual carriage way. Didn't do that again.
