I've rather rashly gone and ordered an MP3 player (MSI MEGA 522BT) on the basis that it will also work as a BlueTooth Hands Free headset.

So, if it works, I should be able to listen to tunes, The Archers, and talk on the phone inside my helmet (BT cuts out music/radio when call comes in).

I guess I'll need to get some decent in-ear buds (many have recommended the Sony ones), but I'll also need a good mic (pref with a 2.5mm plug) - any suggestions?

Would it be worth getting a StarCom helmet set and messing with the wiring/plugs as I hear that their mic set up is very good.

Headphone output is 80mW - would that drive 'phones larger than the in ear ones?

OR... should I have asked here first and been told it won't work before shelling out?

I`ve no personal experience of bluetooth but I`m told the data transfer rates are not up to anything other than monaural voice signal such as mobile phones......put me off.

The bluetooth bit is only for the mobile phone (monaural) - the rest is wired to the player but it should provide everything I need, for solo riding, in the top pocket of my jacket - if it all works.

Got to be more simple than wiring everything into an Auto/Starcom.
