Posted an earlier question about getting a new speedo for my imported 1150 and got a good swap with Vern. I now have a clock that reads in miles and am about to replace the old kms clock. Couple of questions: 1) can I alter the mileage on the new one to match the (lower) mileage on the old clock? 2) will whatever mechanism clocks up the mileage still be counting in kms or does that get sorted out in the speedo and it will clock up miles? Confused? I am. Ta.

You can do whatever you like with the odometer - just tell the next owner (personally I'd take a pic of the old speedo and the new one and show them to any future prospective purchaser).

The speedo drive should be identical - all the kmh/mph gearing is in the instrument itself - in other words, you should be able to fit and forget...

Mike:)

I had to swap my speedo on my good old R1150R a couple of years ago from KM to Miles, and there was no need to change anything but the speedo itself, as Mike says. Drive is the same.

I did this 4 years ago I got the service record to show the change of speedo plus Ive got the old KPH speedo to show any buyer
