MR BMW UK

When BMW make an 800GS with as much power and torque as the 1200 and give it a shaft drive and telever and make it good for long distance two-up riding with luggage then I might think that it is as good as my LC, but somehow I don't think it's going to happen.

Count me as not a fan of the F800GS. Overweight, anemic boring motor. An 800 that purports to be a dualsport should not weigh >500 lbs fueled and unloaded. The rental I rode a couple years ago had very little power above 80 mph, so I was forced to watch my buddies riding off into the distance while I was stuck behind cars and unable to pass safely.

You must have had a bad one - i've never once missed an overtake for fear of not making it due to lack of power - my 800 loves overtakes!

What do you use those things called heated grips for? :hide ...... I'll shut the door on the way out.

I've has the 800gsa for loan a few times while my 1200 was getting serviced/repaired and thought it was a great bike.
Tall as but much lighter than the 12, way more fun off road and more than capable on the road (let's face it if you can't judge your speed and gear to do an overtake on an 800 you need to some professional help)
Down side of it, chain drive (I'm a lazy git and hate adjusting and cleaning chains)
Fork dive, definitely needs adapted for my weight.
Screen is too small and makes it very noisy.
TKC80'S cause a lot of vibration above 90.
