riding along happily when got prompted to take the off ramp to Worcester park. It was between waypoints 1 and 2. the screen grab will show that the route was supposed to go under the off ramp but for some reason it routed me off, then re routed me back straight onto the A3. BTW Garmin has done this a few times as well on this leg but at a different off ramp.

Route shared here

Any ideas why?

I can only guess.

Your phone / GPS device ‘saw’ you as close to or approaching the slip road and routed you accordingly. The satellite fix might be dodgy around Mordor.

As an aside, MyRoute’s ‘best practice’ is to have a shaping point every five kilometres / three miles. You are a touch short of that number.

I suspect that there might have been spurious traffic info relating to that Junction if you were using the app online. I tend to use it offline. I did notice that your waypoints are very far from the road centre line (apart from point 8). That doesn't help. Also the route opened in Open Street maps. You can use that as an overlay but route on the Here map as that's what the app uses.

When you complete a route go to the waypoint list on the left panel and click each waypoint in turn and make sure they are on the road centre line and on the correct carriageway if the road is a duel carriageway.

It would have been possible because of the way Waypoint 3 was positioned that the route could have taken you up Tilt Road.............nobody wants to be taken up Tilt road :D

That was my second guess.

Spot on vis-a-vis the positioning of the points.

PS Don’s route in post #1 opened in Here on my iPhone, sat in a curry house.

I used HERE maps. There was no traffic, actually all day it was more bikes than cars. Fastest route between 1 and 2 is the A3, no real reason for it to detour off and on. An anomaly, but has happened before when there has been traffic on the off ramps and then it causes a delay and frustration as you get directed to re join the same road! No other way point caused issues.. Anyhow, just seems MRA has its foibles like others do
