HI ALL GSERS,
I have a 53 gsa 1150 adventure and have recently bought a mra screen which i would like to fit . But i was told by mra that i needed a list of bits and bobs from the bmw dealer and then it will fit . Had my bike serviced today at southport super bikes and collected all the bits and bobs so , home i go and try to fit the screen , removed all the old screen and mounts etc , screwed the new plates on the head assembly got my screen and oh no more bits needed . If anybody has the same screen fitted to theres can you take a picture and show me what i now need . My screen is a mra varioscreen or you may have a fitting instructions with pictures . Please please please any help you can give would be much appreciated .

screen

hi neil4022 if its the right screen for the gsa it will go straight on if you have the 1150gs screen you will need to convert the pods i think try pm to Jaws who sells them on here:thumb

Got one from JAWS a few months ago, fitted with no extra bits... Make sure you have the right model screen :thumb2

No point buying loads of bits you don't need.

Now i am a bit confused ?
Fitted an MRA variable screen to my 1150gsa last Thursday,I was led to believe that the screen for the gs and gsa are the same screen and you have to purchase a conversion kit to make it fit the gsa and not that there are different screens for the two bikes.
I bought the conversion kit and it fit's perfect, overall very pleased with the result.
Sorry Neil don't know how to post pics, but if you want to ring me on 01482 867563,i would be more than happy to talk you through it.

Steve

Neil,
If you go back to the thread list on 850/1100/1150,and go 8 threads down from yours, titled, MRA screen 1150gsa. on post number 3 you will find a link for the info you need, would link you to it but don't know how?
I have also done a bit more research and am at a loss as to how people have made the screen fit a gsa, without useing standard gs fitting's :nenau

Finn and Dakar i would be very interested to see a picture of your screen, just to make sure i am not having the wool pulled over my eyes.

I fitted this screen to a GSA with Tobinators...

I did however take it off again, as it made me nervous:augie

Hi Neil, I did this exact conversion a while back, bought the screen from Jaws, tried to fit it then realised that MRA DO NOT sell a screen fro an 1150 GS ADVENTURE. You need to buy the standard 1150GS screen mounting kit to fit the MRA screen to your bike. Motorworks (banner at the top of the page) sell them but be aware it's gonna cost you a further £50 odd to buy all the bits you'll need:blast

I'll take a few pics of mine later and post em on here for ya!!:thumb

with summer now in full swing I have removed the top adjustable part - thus.

screen001.jpg

it measures 28cm from the lower edge to top of screen.

With the top part in place the same measurement is 40cm at its lowest adjustment - thus.

screen002.jpg

Highest point - 45cm - thus.

screen003.jpg

its as adjustable as you want between those two points.

possibly the best mod for these bikes. :thumb a pleasant breeze with no turbulence which is ideal for me. shorter riders may find the airflow to be further reduced. (im 6'5) adjustments takes seconds. removal of the top part (for proper cleaning) only slightly longer.

Your help was great

Just a quick note to say many many thanks for all your help and for the pictures . Kind Regards neil4022:comfort:beerjug::clap:bounce1:JB
