OK guys......looking to next upgrade and the screen on my 2008 1200GS is in the frame. Recent trip to Italy suggested that there was effort and thought required here and have considered all the usual bolt on spoilers and extenders.
Have identified the MRA Screen for investigation as attached image.....
There are two types and the one with larger upper element is of most interest to me....

All input greatfully received as always..........

Givi 330 airflow is the only way to go.Fantastic difference it makes.Fit winglets too for total comfort and quiet buffeting free riding:thumb
Search thread on it on here.

IMO 'the best' screen is very much a subjective view and what works well for one tosser seems horrible to another. I've tried an MRA with a spoiler and wasn't too impressed but others find them wonderful. I'm now using a combination of a Givi + winglets. Hope you find a set-up that works well for you without too much trial and error!

Well, I'd be daft not to mention it, so, I collected my new 1200GSA last Saturday, complete with tinted screen, so I have the brand new original clear Adventure screen available which I don't need, still bubble-wrapped and boxed ?

Its just the screen, no winglets or fittings

Looking for £100 +post or collect from Preston, Lancs.

If you decide to go BM OEM, let me know

I see you're on the Wirral. Maybe a handover around Warringon/Runcorn would be workable.

laminar lip

I guess it depends how tall you are, and how fussy , but I fitted at Laminar Lip to my GSA 1200,its not the complete solution, [nothing is , except a 1200 RT] but it does make a noticeable difference at Autobahn speeds especially. They are made in the States, but Heroblobs do them over here, £70 a pop. Their import markup is shocking , but it is a solution if you are 6 feet or over.

Mark,

I have PM'd you.....happy to take the screen off your hands and can source the fitting kit and brace from BMW directly or similar.........

I can come and pick up this weekend perhaps....or if it's convenient I work in Liverpool I could pick up one evening....

Thanks to all for your replies, and especially to Mark Bamber for the offer of a new screen. I'm going down the OEM GSA route....too good an opportunity to pass on.....I now of course need to find the upper brace and fitting kit to go with it so if anyone has spares or info that would be great........PM or reply here if you can help......

Cheers!

OK....so now have the OEM Adventure screen and brace all fitted and can say that I'm bvery happy with the results.......it may well be better with the winglets but I don't have them and don't know whether I'll bother.......

I find the screen highly adjustable and with it in the lowest position it'd a bit like a sports bike screen with clean airflow around your head....something not possible with the standard GS screen, perhaps because it is too short.....in the mid position it rides well (even at spirited motorway speeds) without buffeting.....in upper position I get the dreaded buffeting.

For refernce I'm 6' tall, 14 stone and ride with the adventure seat option in the upper position.

Thanks again to all who posted....
