I am not aware of changing any settings but a couple of days ago I started to get this error message when synchronising Outlook on my PC with my Hotmail account. Its just downloading the "Sent" box that is the problem.

I am receiving emails and think I am sending them although only incomplete copies are finding their way into my Outlook "Sent" folder. They don't look right on Hotmail but they do open and seem complete. I have also had some replies which indicates that it is just the storage and synchronisation that is the issue.

Any ideas please? I did a Google but it didn't provide anything useful.

Cheers

My ISP works with Yahoo, and the mail server settings changed recently - the symptoms were similar in that I couldn't send mail, but I could still receive it. In the end, I cured it by setting my outgoing mail server to smtp.mail.yahoo.com.

How are you synching with Hotmail and Outlook? I use Hotmail Popper, but I don't tend to send messages via that account, so I wouldn't necessarily have noticed if there were problems via that route.

I checked my email set up and all looked perfectly OK but as there didn't seem to be any alternative, I deleted my existing Hotmail link in Outlook 2003 and set up a new one with exactly the same settings and, guess what? Everything now works again with no error message :clap

Thanks guys :thumb2

PS The error message was actually 0x800CCCF0 - I lost a C in there somewhere :o
