Muc Off = Streaks!

Ayup, what ever you do never tell a bmw dealer you use muc-off to clean your bike, if you ever make a warranty claim bmw will void the claim they insist you dont use this to clean your bike im aware of quite a few claims they have turned down after owners told there stealer they clean with muc off, also when i made a warranty claim on some paint issues on the engine casings on a 800 i was asked what i use to clean and my reply was not muc-off! however i think the previous owner used this and in the end i got a brand new engine .

;)

Yes but they read what's on here:blast:blast

I'm thinking SDoc100 from now on.

I've gone over the plastics with GT85, which has restored them to their former glory.

I've got 2 litres of Muc Off going cheap if anyone wants 'em?

I was told by BMW not to use muck off.
They say it's full of corrosive additives.
Try castrol greentech or the sdoc 100 gel.

My bike's previous owner washed it regularly with MucOff. The rear subframe has rusted under the paint. Steering strut is a mess and the wire wheels need to be rebuilt due to corrosion. Otherwise it's fine.

Hi folks, I've washed my bike with Muc Off for the first time today. After leaving it to do "its thing" for a few minutes, I came back to find it had left streaks all over the plastics. Not only that but the streaks appear to have faded the plastics!!!

So, my question is what do you lot use for cleaning & what cam I use to restore the plastics?

Regards

The white streaks you see running down the bike normally after it's been washed and dried are where the detergent has taken the wax of your bike. Pro-clean and Comma used to do it to my car. I stopped using them when they ran out at home as they became they too expensive and just bought a pressure washer detergent from a local auto factors 25l £21 and use that diluted right down the cleaning is perfect and don't get the streaks.

muc off

i only used it once
NEVER AGAIN
i washed my bike with shampoo buy it from costco brilliant stuff
someone told me muc off was good
i gave the rest away

Not sure about the destructions (no pun intended) on Muc-Off, but the Dr Bike stuff says it has to be diluted down (20:1)

Only use it neat on areas you intend to degrease.

Also, as stated, do not let it dry out.

Just looked at their site:
