Mud guard?

I was just wondering if anybody out there rides without the factory rear tire mud guard. I have been thinking of removing it. No real good reason just thought it might look better. Any pros/cons would be appreciated.

Other bikes have full mudguards/undertrays.

The GS one just complies with the minimum area coverage under German law.

Other German registered bikes have to have the mudflap extension under the number plate. Boy did I used to get into trouble for that when I was younger...

Lots of peeps have removed it (commonly refered to as a 'crud catcher'), including me

It makes no difference to the amount of spray chucked up onto the bike rider but these do

It's a useless piece of shit that got removed as soon as I got it home and will NEVER be refitted. The modified reprayed NN was fitted in its place and is reasonably effective!
