The mudguard should be close to the tyre or higher in a bmw r100gs 1990?

I think it was optional. My 100PD came with both.

low to wheel was an expensive extra.but not fashionable now

Not quite so me-thinks.

It seems that the R100GS 'faired and unfaired' came standard with the Lo mudguards, with the Hi as an option.

However the R100GS PD came standard with the Hi mudguard with the Lo as the option.

The Hi mudguard is a rare site on the 100GS, but IMO much more suited to the look of the bikes.

Looking at maxbmw, they show the "high" with the side panels, sort of infering that's the standard one.

IMO the higher one looks better on the pre PD ones, ooh, wonder which one I now have on

and the hand protectors were an option?

my bike came with low mudguard, no windshield and no hand protectors... I’m now trying to put it as original as possible.

Best keep an eye on ebay.de. For those of us out of the €uro zone, the prices have gone up a little recently unfortunately, Germany seems to have about 90% of the bits that you see on ebay around the world.

I'd be interested in the low mudguard if the chappie dont want it !!!!!!!!

I've had both fitted to 88/89 100GSes and the low definitely makes it wander less especially when it's a bit blowy.
