Evening all

I have a Puig/Wunderlich hugger fitted to my 2016 LC and this evening fitted a Machineart Mudsling. When on the centre stand, the two touch together, but as far as I can see when it is off the centre stand and propped upright with no weight on the bike, there is about 10mm clearance between the two.

I have searched this site and advrider.com, but cannot see any posts that confirm in normal use they are compatible and do not touch. Has anyone any experience of running with both together?

Let us know how you get on. I've had a Mudsling on from new and recently bought and fitted a Puig hugger ("to keep ma troos clean"). I removed the hugger before I used the bike when I saw it touched the Mudsling.

I have the Wunderlich extreme rear hugger and a mudsling fitted. Been back and forward from Ireland to Scotland....so a mixture of road surfaces...not a problem with the fact they touch when on the centre stand.

For them to touch whilst riding, I would need to be airborne which is never gonna happen

And the way I see it, plastic against plastic....what's the worst that could happen?

Dry arse and relatively clean rear end versus rubbing on two bits of plastic....the dry arse wins!

Cheers for the reply, I kind of thought it would be ok.

Does the mudsling not do a decent job on its own?

Not in my experience, I've tried both a mudsling and a hugger and neither is a complete cure but the mudsling helps whereas I found the hugger which was a carbon fibre Ilmberger was nothing more than a good looking ornament.

The Puig infill panels will stop most of the crap covering the back of your legs.

Yes. I have both of those fitted. I put a strip of helicopter tape on the leading edge of the hugger and stopped worrying about it.

I can post some pics later of the clearance if you want? As already stated, the mudsling doesn't do the job on its own....keeps shock relatively clean, as already mentioned. The hugger definitely stops the wet arse/legs. I have no infills....but where do you stop? The amount of sh1t that gets flung over me doesn't warrant any more additions to the bike....

Thanks, pics please.

I have some sketchy pics from earlier this evening whilst bike on centre stand....it was a dark and cold evening in Faslane, so apologies for the quality and lighting....and even more so for the fantastic arrows and lettering!!! H for hugger, M for mudsling....who would've known!!

You can see a bit of rubbing, but it was hardly worth the effort of lying upside down on the freezing ground

That is great thanks. Will see how mine fairs.

Thanks guys. Came back a week ago from trip Amsterdam - Newcastle - Northern Ireland - Ireland (part of Wild Atlantig Way) - back via port of Dublin/Holyhead - Bristol - Folkestone - Callais - Antwerp - Home

I had the Puig on the GSA LC. Decided some days ago to order the mudsling from Machineart. After reading your post fitted the 2 together today. We'll see how far it solves 'the problem' :-;

I can confirm that. I noticed loads of crap going all over my legs so fitted them oto my 2014 GSA. Result = 90% effective. I’ve just changed the bike and my first add-on’s are Puig fender extender (from old bike) plus Puig hugger and upper frame infills. Would highly recommend this winning combination.
