Hi all,

I am new to the GS world and was surprised on how wet the back of my lets got and spray up the back, I have bought front and rear Mudsling, is it better to leave the rear black thing (guess a sort of bad hugger) on or off the bike, thanks in advance

I've left mine on. Unfortunately, there's a risk of getting wet, when riding a motorcycle in the rain.:D

Bloody hell really, well that's it, I am getting rid of mine and get one of them car things

Even with the Mudsling, it's still pretty crap. A normal close-tyre fitting hugger (Wunderlich, Skidmark, Ilmberger CF) all work much better.
Part of the problem are these mixed/adventure tyres - the tread pattern picks up water more than road tyres. When I switched to pure road tyres, the water spray reduced.

that rear baklck thing is a legal requirement in some countries ,sure i read it on here that its France ! it helps as the spray wlll rise up and soak the underside of the bike ,when its heavy it can splash off here and outwards .

I agree, even with the Mudsling I get debris covering the lower side of the seats and my trousers.

The one thing the rear mudsling does do well is protect the rear shock. Prior to getting one for my GSA the shock would be covered in crap after a wet ride. With the mudsling it stays clean :thumby:
I must admit that with both GS and GSA I've not noticed a problem with backs of legs or seat getting plastered.
