OK Guys (and Gals), got myself a second hand Mudsling, no doubt because the Mudsling Max has just been released.
Came complete with instructions, but no mention of removing the original shock guard. I know this rubs on the mudsling (because of previous threads here and the fact that there is a small scuff mark on the mudsling that I have bought) and want to remove it. Only question is.....is it as easy as removing the stainless bolts that appear to hold it in place, or do these bolts serve another purpose also. I don't want this to turn into a big job because of my ingnorance. Would welcome confirmation from someone who has removed the original shock guard before I break out the spanners.

Many thanks for your input and experience.....

Piece of cake , just undo the nut you mentioned and jiggle it from around the shock and job done :thumb

+1 for thanks!
Out of interest are you using a phone app for GSer....you guys seemed to respond bloomin' quick.....

Fitted and happy.......thanks for your help......its the most over-engineered attachment of a splash guard I have ever seen!!!!

Yeah too right....
Looking for someone who has an MRA screen, the one with the overlapping screen elements rather than the little lip on the top edge.....
Also will be fitting aux power panel soon (the one Nippy's do which can be set up for switchable/non-switchable) for additional socketry including USB, and for install of Autocom.
Onwards with the install !!!!
