Mudsling Max

Does anyone have one of these on their 1200 with ESA? I saw one on a 1200 at the weekend with one fitted, and it was very close to the back tyre; a fingers width between the Mudsling and the tyre. Are they meant to fit this close? Just want to check before I part with my money.

Ive got a max on an esa equipped bike, it does not rub but to be honest as a road commuter who doesnt go offroad i think a rear hugger such as puig might have been a better bet.

Exactly the same on my non ESA 2006, so seems to make no difference which year or suspension setup.

I have one fitted to my 2010 Esa gs and it has worn through! I have got it as far fwd as possible. I am two up most of the time and it is possible that I might have forgotten to change the suspension to account for her on the odd occaision. I did however blame her and tell her to lose weight. Should be out of hospital soon

maybe in your case with a lot ot 2up work you should have removed the esa cover.

I have the 2008 with all the extras including ESA, and whilst it is a "good fit" I have had no problems......I did however take off the original plastic splash guard for the rear shock.....

Wouldnt be without one of these now.....keeps everything clean and tidy!

There is good clearance to the esa cover, its worn through from the tyre. I will measure the "no load " gap from the tyre to the mudsling tomorrow. From memory it looked to be well clear and I was suprised to find a hole in it.

Mine has hit the tyre as well, two up with the ESA suspension set for it for it. Making progress over some very undulating roads i heard a 'crunch' and when i looked when i got home you can see where the tyre has hit the Mudsling Max.

I'll take a photo later and post it up here later.

Thanks for that. It seems that most people have had issues with the max when carrying pillions. Has anyone had any problems when riding solo? I've ordered a Mudsling max from Nippys, and am waiting for it to arrive, so don't want to fit it if its going to get damaged. My riding is mainly solo. Any solo riders had problems? I must say that I was surprised how close it was to the tyre on the bike that I saw.

I've got this instead of the Mudsling and it works perfectly on my 2011 GSA without any rubbing riding solo or with luggage / passenger, they do a speficif version for bikes with ESA.

Take the shock cover off it serves little or no purpose with mudsling.simple as, one bolt. No rubbing etc
