Mudsling Max

Photo's as promised....

You can see where it scraped the area made for the ESA controller on the other side.

Thanks for the pics.:thumb It seems that not many have had this problem, and when I asked Norman, he said he hadn't heard of it.:nenau He'll probably swap it under warranty if you ask nicely.:rob

Sale of goods act 1976 (I think). Not fit for purpose. If it doesn't work then it's a money back job, simples!

I hope this is a rare event as I'm fitting one tomorrow.:blast

Mine should be here tomorrow, so I'll fit it at the weekend and see how it looks.:thumb I may even stick some pics on here if it looks close to the tyre to see what you lot reckon.:augie

Hi

I fitted on earlier this week and it's very close, first fit was touching tyre I then fitted again and managed a 10mm gap max.
Looks scarily close.

Fitted the Mudsling the other day, and as expected, it's very close to the back tyre.:blast Here's some pictures

Is that the same as others?:nenau I'm not worried, as long as the tyre doesnt rub it.:thumb

Does that look too close? Answers from people that have a Mudsling max please.:aidan

About the same as mine too... You can shim it to change the angle a tiny bit, have a look on the original vendors website. There was a video explaining tolerances etc...

I tried to find that, but couldn't. Do you have a link?

Are all the worn ones on normal GS suspension? Mine's on a GSA, which has longer shocks & springs.

There will be less travel on a normal one, and worse again on a shortened one. It's a one size fits all product, but really if it's touching that sticky out part, your suspension must be pretty close to bottomed out anyway, given its bolting onto the existing fixed under tray.

I'm thinking of doing the shortened WESA on my GSA and wonder how this will affect the mudslinger max and other accessories...

That nice new tyre will only get further away as you pile on the miles! :D

I have a standard mudsling on my ESA GS & used the little rubber shims provided - No probs even with the shock guard still in place. :thumb

I used a helicopter tape on the frame rails to take any chafing rather than the paint, but PVC insulation tape would do. Grit will get under the mudsling and it will rub and grind so best to use tape and replace periodically.
