I've been advised to get a mudsling mudguard for my new GSA to keep the crap out of the rear shock etc, is it worth the money, or are there better alternatives?
Cheers

I have a Mudsling fitted to 08 GSA, rate it very highly, gives good protection to rear shock, and better protection to your left boot than a conventional hugger. Always felt it was the bit BMW forgot to fit, really looks part of the bike.

How was fitting it?

I've not really looked at that yet......

I fitted a mudslinger to my gsa also.. wouldnt do without it now . it makes all the difference. everything is alot cleaner now..

+1 for the Mudsling - I have one fitted to my '08 GSA. If you get one, remove the small OEM jobbie shock protector which can snag on the Mudsling but this only serves to make it a doddle to keep the rear shock clean anyway. I took my OEM bumper thingie off and fitted a fender extender as well.

+1 for the Mudslinger. Fitted it a week or two ago on my 08 GSA, really works well. Was very simple to fit, comes with instructions, took 10mins

I fitted a similar device from Wunderlich a couple of years ago. My left boot no longer fills with muddy water. If you ride in the rain then you need one.

+1 for me, fitted to my 08GSA(ESA) & seems to be fine. Realy is just a 10mins job to fit. :thumb2

Wow, thanks for all the repsonse. Seems like it's well worth the money then so I'll get one fitted :thumb2

Anyone got any pictures of this fitted??? i have a hugger fitted but still seem to get crap everywhere :( can these still be fitted with a hugger??

Mine has just arrived from the states

I looked on Nippy Normans, but read some forums on here. Went onto E Bay : hthttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300391427571&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AITtp://

There is a sting in the tail.....Custom duty and Parcel Force Handling charge.

Total price E Bay - £ 61.05, Customs - £9.60, Parcel Force £8.00
Still cheap at £78.65 - Week delivery

Check out the BestRest Spray Stopper. Not cheap, but easy to fit, effective, unobtrusive, won't go brittle and won't resonate under certain conditions and make a funny noise

There was a 1200 in the For Sale and Wanted Section (BMW R1200 GS Adventurer 59 plate 200 miles! Wideload21 ) which shows one fitted.

Now on page 2 I think

I've just spent 15mins fitting one to my 2010 GSA. Two screws, four cable ties. Easy.
