I have a mudsling fitted to 1200gs lc.

I would doubt it, tie wraps are quite thin, so no i dont think they will.
The Mudsling has a curved edge to accommodate the frame tube which the tie wraps secure it. The supplied steel mounting brackets for the Puig side covers however appear to be exactly where the Mudsling wants to attach to the frame unless it's me being extremely thick (again !), any advice would be most gratefully accepted before I start chopping the steel brackets with the grinder

I bought one of the cheap Chinese copies because of this.
Yes you need to butcher it.
In the end a couple of self tappers did the trick.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will get my grinder out and start chopping the Puig steel mounting brackets to clear the Mudsling , a quick lick of paint on the raw edges and nobody will be any the wiser 
....Wish I had bought the 'Cheapo Chinese Copies' now that appear to mount with tie wraps, never mind !

I knew I should have bought a motorcycle with 'proper mudguards' instead of fannying around with BMW
adventure bikes that need Mudslings,
fender extenda's, infill panels, huggers,
etc, etc, to try and keep your Twat Suit clean if the roads are slightly damp.
Something like this maybe

I had a Puig Hugger on my '16 1200GS but fitted a Mudslinger on the replacement 1250GSA and find with this that there is still a lot of spray being thrown over the back end of the Bike.
Anyone know if it's possible to fit a Puig Hugger while leaving the Mudslinger in place and without them crashing into each other due to suspension compressing?

My mate has a puig hugger and a Chinese copy of a mudsling fitted to his 2013 r1200gs. He found that the hugger pivoted as designed under suspension compression and pushed the bottom edge of the mudsling against the swing arm. This abraded the paint on the swing arm causing a hell of a mess. We trimmed the bottom edge of the mudsling and repainted the swing arm. Armed with this information we checked on a third mates bike with a similar setup and found the same damage.
In contrast I have an Ilimberger carbon fiber hugger and genuine mudsling fitted with no such problems. I think the main difference is in the mounting point of the hugger: the ilimberger mounts onto the cardan drive and doesn’t pivot forward like the Puig hugger does.

I had that combo on mine. No better than Mudsling alone, so sold Puig hugger.
Both genuine and no issues with rubbing.
I asked Nippy Norman as I got both from him about my 2017 1200GS and his reply was you can fit either but not both as they rub. I tried them and sure enough on my bike they did, so I took my Drimmel to the hugger and trimmed some off it until they didn't rub.
If we had all bought Victory Cross Country Tour motor cycles instead of BMW Adventure bikes Puig, Wonderlich, Machine Art, Givi, Touratech and Nippy Norman's may never have existed, spooky that all this

The Puig infill panels stop the crap.
Thanks for all the suggestions following my question about fitting both the Mudslinger and Puig Hugger, I'll check out the Limberger version.
Edit: Having just checked the Limberger site and seeing their prices etc besides not wanting carbon fibre, think I will order a Puig and if needed get the Dremmel to that or the Mudslinger if they foul each other!

I'll currently waiting for this to arrive off ebay so if you wanted to wait I could let you know if it's a good copy of the original one I have that's now getting a bit tired. That way you could buy the infills as well for the same price

Thanks for the offer, be interested to hear what the quality of the Chinese Hugger is like. When is yours due to arrive as the eBay sites are quoting March/April from China?
I'm not sure the infill panels will help with what annoys me, as I get a lot of spray on the Swinging Arm, Bevel Box and Givi Pannier Frame on that side of the bike so am hoping a Puig style Hugger would reduce this.
Occasionally I used to get spray on the back of my right leg when I had the 1200GS but with the Mudslinger this doesn't seem to be such a problem on the 1250GSA.
Look forward to your feedback on the Chinese Hugger.
