Had some shorty deflectors fitted to the GS when i bought it,

Not bad, but not really effective if riding in rain for long periods, your gloves get soaked

So over the winter i fitted some muffs, apart from keeping your hands warm, they keep the bone dry

So summer is approaching, and ive been given some high height deflectors

Question is, do i keep the muffs on, or go for the high height deflectors ? anyone used them, do they offer anything over the shorty items ?

Not quite an answer to your question, but when I know the weather isn't behaving, I take my muffs in the topbox...just case. They look properly fugly. But warm and dry and take only 3-4min to put both sides on.

Can't imagine hand guard extensions competing with muffs, except for short journeys and in warm temps (+10°) with goretex gloves.

I tried deflectors on my RS. Crap. Fitted some Barkbuster Storm handguards and dug out my R319 Tucano muffs used on my GS & Super Tenere. So much nicer to arrive at the office with dry hands and have dry gloves to put on in the afternoon. Not that I do any commuting nowadays.
