Multi bike insurance? Who do you use.

Multi bike policy ?
I’ve got a rider policy so I’m insured to ride any bike up to 3000cc.
Don’t even have to inform the insurers when I change bikes, which is handy .
The premium has gone up a bit though . Was around £170 for a few years back.
Last renewal was £330. Robbing bastards

How does that insure you against theft of the bikes? The insurance company won't know what risk they are taking on or is there and agreed max value of the 'fleet' of bikes?

Thats a good price to be fair i have similar bikes, R1000gs, Harley Sportster 1200 and now Triumph 765 RS. 25 years riding experience and 9+ years no claims so i was expecting around £80-100 for mid policy change but when they said £231 i thought no chance. I tried Bike sure this morning online multi cover but it did not give the option to add other bikes so although i clicked multi bike section it just does not work, maybe you have to call them i will when i get time. Ill Try Bike sure, Hastings, Bennetts and possibly Bemoto im not after massive savings or anything im just after not having the piss taken, 12 years with principal so really got me annoyed that this new chap there couldn't care less about finding alternatives, just shows you get a poor employee can really loose you customers.

Just quickly looked on bennetts, looks good with great trust pilot reviews, It had a section on joining bike social for discounts? but its £60 a year, are you with them an does that aid to rider insurance discounts? if your aware. Cheers Lads right im out for the afternoon appreciate all the advice cracking forum this.

I rarely make any mods apart from a slip on can, which they’re not bothered with .
They don’t even know how many bikes I own or what they are .Makes it all very simple .

Membership of their bike social is free if you have a policy with them. I rarely look on their forum but I did win a pair of weekend tickets for the final BSB round at Brands with a lap in the safety car and pit passes for the weekend it was a draw, you just had to throw your name in the hat. They have lots of competitions and discount deals on bike gear

Must be. On the mainland bikes have to be added to the 'insured' database before you can buy RFL, so you have to notify the insurance company of the reg number etc

Express insurance for me - £380 for four bikes (CBR1000RR, Blackbird, Pan European and the GS I’m rebuilding)

+1 on the problems with owning more than one bike - four lots of MOT, tax and batteries (when they inevitably die over winter despite using an optimate)

I’m looking to slim down my ‘collection’ in the spring…..it was a good idea at the time, but there’s only so many sunny Sundays in a year and I can’t ride them all at once!

Are you constantly pulled over for riding what appears to be an uninsured bike?

why would that happen on an island where everyone will have the same type of policy?

when he goes to the UK or EU he will obviously be on foreign plates

No because we display an insurance disc on our bikes.
There’s no road tax over here so all vehicles have insurance discs .
They did away with it years back and upped the price of fuel . Suits me as I don’t have to tax numerous bikes and cars and just ‘pay per mile’

UK police have access to the EU insured vehicle database. I couldn't see how it would work if you didn't tell your insurance company what bikes you own. OK once they have pulled you over they will see your insurance disc but it won't stop them pulling you over

It would be nice ifthe mainland could adopt incorporating RFL in with fuel duty, as you say it makes sense to pay proportional to the miles you ride and there's no way of evading the tax

When I renew my insurance I just tell them how many discs I need . If I buy a new bike without replacing one I just call them and they’ll pop one in the post
