Multiple routes/tracks displayed

At times my XT displays several routes/tracks at the same time. This is particularly evident near home where a number of my planned excursions commence. The only way I've found to stop this is to delete all the trips and tracks that I'm not using. They are then not shown

I'm guessing there is a more sensible way of limiting the display to the trip or track I wish to follow?

(Apologies if the answer is obvious, I have scanned the topics in the XT sub-section of the GPS forum)

Try:

Home screen > Settings > Map & Vehicle > Scroll down > Map Layers > Scroll down > Uncheck Travel History
