So let me guess.. you dropped it in a ford and flooded it.. so whilst taking the bits off to get it working again you decided to make it even harder to see at night due to your embarrisment.. ??? (I am sure they had to take almost that much off johnnies at llangollen this year to get the water out the air box )

They have a pretty fast turn around but that depends on how much work they have on. They can coat in pretty much any colour (and I'm not on comission). Advice would be to take your bits apart as much as possible and make a note of how many bits you give them. They didn't loose any of mine by the way.

Oh, the tank panels and side panels have been painted and not coated but on the 1200, the side panels (with the GS logo) can be coated. I decided to get them painted so that they matched the tank panel which is plastic.

Many thanks for your comliments. This is only the first stage of what I had in mind, I will post more when I get there. I thought that they original had just TOO much silver on it and the bronze / gold side panels just didn't fit in with anything else on the bike. Too many clashing colours.

Mmmm just read that thread and that looks very interesting. Perhaps I might need to have a rethink on a couple of things. Thanks for that, I hadn't seen that one before even though I've trawled the site for hours, days, months and what seems like years..
