I have trawled these posts for an answer to this problem I am having, have found some near answers, so thought I would post again....hoping GSRich may see it!!!! (and other helpul tossers)

Sorry if I am going over old ground again......please be gentle!!!!

Super pro AVI fitted to 1200GSA. Has worked perfectly on this bike and previous bike...until now.

I only have an ipod connected and a pillion, no GPS (have one on the bike but dont want to hear her screaming at me every time I venture off road!!!)or phone (dont want to hear her screaming at me every time I venture out on my own...Mrs Phantom that is...not the GPS!!)

The problem is when the music peaks at loud volume, the system auto cuts the volume to less than half. This has never happened before and has just started happening. I reduce the output volume of the ipod, same result.

The BGNS is active as it works when speaking, and does not appear to be the issue as the same problem happens when stationary and there is no background noise.

I have tried re plugging all leads and adjusted peak volume protector on the ipod.

As I say, the unit has worked PERFECTLY for a long time but has just started playing up.

Ihave used Autocoms for some years now and have no problems with reommending them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have pretty much the same problem with my Autocom on a 1200GSA. The music is the only item connected. I have tried new leads etc but no joy. The most frustrating thing is that this can happen at any time, after 5 minutes riding or after an hour. To resolve the issue i have to stop, cut the ignition and then start the bike again and everything is fine..... until the next time.

The only other possible cause that i can think is that the autcom cuts out when the bike goes over a bump... but this seems a long shot as it is installed under the seatwhere i know that lots of other people have them installed........ Keep me posted on anything else that you find that may resolve your issue...

If i do not find a fix soon i think that i may just get rid of the autocom.

Any updates!!!

I actually started looking for a replacement unit asthey have been clearing them really cheap before the new models arrive...couldnt find one though so thought a post here may be worth it. I rellyrate the Autocom so dont want to move away from it if possible.

If I get an answer elsewhere I will post the result!

Sorry for the delay, I was off from work yesterday so I am catching up on my emails and forum watching.

Which AUX socket have you got the music into? Have you tried swapping the connections say if the music is connected into the AUX2 socket to be plugged into the AUX3 socket?

Hi Rich, all that fun at work AND you get days off as well!!!!!!!!

I have always had the music plugged in AUX 3. Being honest (!) I havent actually tried it in Aux 2. I will try it when next on my bike. Unfortunately this may be a couple of weeks due to other commitments! I presume this maybe because of general wear and tear if the same socket has been used for 18/24 months or so?
Off to the Alps in June so hopefully it will be sorted by then otherwise I may not be able to hear Mrs Phantom on the back..........now theres a thought.......maybe I'll leave the plug where it is and..........

Thanks for your help Rich, will let you know if it doesnt work.

Thanks for the response. i have tried moving my music to Aux3 from Aux2 and have the same problem. The odd thing is that when this music cuts out i switch off the engine and turn it back on again and everything is fine again.

The Autocom unit is mounted under the seat, is it posisble that the music cut out could be caused when teh bike goes over a bump and jogs the unit. Long shot i know as the Autocom was fitted by an approved dealer and i am pretty sure that under the seat is the normal place for installations on a 1200GSA :nenau
