My 1200 Mega Moto

Very nice indeed :thumb

The best styling mod in my opinion is just the removal of the rear rack and seat, the GS just looks so much better for doing that :)

Hi Rod
Great result!
what about the wheels, from which bike?, easy to install, what mods needed (except the front mudgard) did the rear hugger take easely 180 tyres?

I am thinking to change my wheels, any other advices appreciated.
Philippe.

read further down the thread, all is explained.

I think it looks great but I removed my rear handles/rack yesterday and then found that the bike was a big of a handle to move without them. Hence I've just reattached them.

Yes but a Touratech seat will look better still , more `finished` and a damn sight more comfortable for the rider (and pillion!). :thumb

Very nice mod to the wheels.

Does the change in wheel size affect the handling in any way.

I would love to do this to mine but have concerns about the front/rear balance. Does it make the steering too sharp or slow. I note you chose tyres that are not too sharp steering because you had concerns about this.

So far, the handling is great. IMO even better than before. For all the info on this follow the thread on the Adventure rider site under My 1200SM

Your Akrapovich exhaust

Hi

Which Akrapovich titanium silencer do you have. Looks great but I know there was talk of them making the GS run too lean. How has yours been?

Also where did you get it from?

Thanks

I have not had mine dynoed, but I think you are refering to the shotgun race exhaust they make.

Rod - what are the mirrors like in use...are they relatively vibration free? Also who is the supplier...don't know ABM...

They are not quite as good as the originals, but OK & look better. They don't vibrate any more than the originals. I got them through boxer design.

Very sexy bike :thumb

I'd have just bought a K1200R and saved a lot of trouble - maybe I'm just lazy :nenau
