Yet another faultless day out on the bike yesterday, Started first time, didn't miss a beat, Did 515 miles with amazingly ............. NO drama.

I also did 4,200km recently, two-up, in the company of numerous BMW's (250+) many of which did not break down. I can only say 'many' as there were two minor breakdowns that I know of. One was a K1200S that did a final drive seal on the last day but made it to the end. It was repaired the next day for the ride home and the other was a 1200GS that blew a front shock seal. "Handles much the same" was the report so whether that means it was just as good with the blown seal or was shite to start with can only be guessed at. My own 1200GS got a top-up with oil, just for peace of mind on the 1000km trip back home, as it had guzzled its way down to the halfway mark in the sight glass in the last 10,000km, so does that count also?

I had much the same on Monday, Basingstoke - Middlesbrough - Marlborough mostly motorway, no problems at all.

Strange thing is I saw maybe 7 or 8 other 1200GS's on my travels and no 1100/1150's at all, do you think their owners have decided to use the car now its getting a little colder:rob:D

Shep

Done about 8,000 miles on mine - most of which have been fine.

But I noticed when I got home last night that it's dirty - AGAIN.

I'm so pissed off that BMW can't sort this problem out once and for all - what's the matter with them!!! :thedummy

Got a second hand 12GS 07 in early June with 6700km on the clock.

June: Northcape ~7300km
July - Aug: Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg (a "few" times) ~5000km
Sep: Denmark ~2200km

Everyday: to and from work ~150km per week

No problem until now....

I'm really pleased for you all. Hope you'll be as forthcoming if/when something goes wrong. Some peeps have posted in the " No FPC fault " thread, and then later on been forced to post in the " Had a FPC fault " thread.

When someone posts 'My BMW burst into flames' on another forum and then someone else comes on here and says 'Is there a problem with BMW's catching fire' I know the world's gone mad.

So any 'My BMW's unreliable' type threads will be met with the irreverence they deserve....

:P

Lol, some of you guys really know how to tempt fate....

Only snag I've had with my 1150 is the fuel filler drain is blocked. Fill up with rainwater which sits there until I lift the filler cap to put fuel in, then it drains into the fuel tank. Not so good methinks... ;~(

I've had a glass or two of the vino redo and can't make head or tail of what your post means!!
