My 80RT lives!

After messing about with bits on and off for about 8 months, the RT got through the MOT today...

It was via a couple of guys on here and needed a couple of obvious jobs... These turned into a couple of other obvious jobs...

Got around to finishing things and getting it back together and then in for the MOT... Got there and found the side light wasn't working... Didn't need it but needed the tail light which was also AWOL... Quick FFS or two and them lightbulb moment and used phone to check where the fuses were courtesy of ADV rider... Fuse change and bobs yer uncle... It had extra fogs and hazards wired in as well...

So...

Fork seal and fork clean up...

Fork gaiters...

Slipping clutch checked and cleaned up...

New bearings and seals in the gearbox... found courtesy of clutch check...

New carb seals and floats + clean...

One fuel tap repair kit...

New fuel hoses...

New fork springs as the old ones were fecked...

Good ole clean up...

Result

Next will be new needles and needle jets in carbs and a probably valve job as it's probably never been done in it's 70 k miles...

I'll get a couple of pics up for posterity...

Pics... Bit bouncy with £70 of shopping yesterday and needs winding up a bit but good fun all the same... I am in the RT fairing preservation society as soon they will be extinct if people won't leave 'em as they are...

PS not sure how to get better sized pics on board...

ive got one of them just doing it up when I can only done 36 k miles I ride a r1150rt and a r1150gsa as well !

I'm 6'6" and even the biggie screens don't get there... The standard screen made me feel like a pilot with his head out of the window... One of my old K11LT jobs and needs changing at some point... Might be why it go's so slow...
