They do say that adviced is only good advice if you ask for it.
If you read this, you are asking for it.
Having returned to UK on 23/05/09, I feel I must impart my experiences.

1) Brittany Ferries to Santander is quicker, cleaner and cheaper than the rusty old P&O Pride of Bilbao. The drunk mini cruisers are not as entertaining though. Cabin is a must unless you are made of iron and can afford an Oesteopath!!

2) If you want to stay in Midi Pyrenees, try Caty & Chris (english) at [email protected] or trip advisor. Wonderful location for exploring and they know all the best routes and places to see. definately worth the money!!

3) Although all the roads are great on the french side, look up the D15, D8, D15 between Tarascon and Oust, westbound!! Breathtaking. Also try the D618 from St Girons to Arreau, fantastic!! 5-6 hours between Tarascon and Arreau.

4) If you have time on your hand try the Subterranian river experience on the D1 west of FOIX

5) if the weather is good spend 30 Euros on the Pic Du Midi Gondela. Breathtaking

6) Spanish side, the N260 is very well documented as a fantastic riding road.
try staying over at the Hotel Mur, (opposite the fort in Jaca) excellent value, beautiful location for a wander in the evening.

7) ride ALL the way up the Hecho valley, half way back cross to the Anso valley, and come back onto the N240.

There is so much to see and 10 days wasn't enough!!

Hope this helps
regards :)
