Can anyone help.
Bought a pro 7 Autocom off another tosser on here.Motorrad cardiff fitted it for me. I have just fitted the headsets in the helmets, and have just tested it.Well it seems to work, but is not very loud at all.I can imagine as soon as i have earplugs in and the bikes running i won't hear a thing.Any ideas what it may be.The position of the mikes and speakers seem fine.By the way i'm not deaf:augie but may be a bit stupid:blast

Hi John,

Sent you a mail, but as mentioned the same as the post above check the turn screws on the main unit are fully clock wise = max Vol, then make sure the speakers are not lost in your helmet so far away from your ears you cant hear much ! :augie Need to know next what you tested helmet to helmet or did you listern to some music ? if from what? :thumb2

Regards

Mick

No Vol control! Wondering what unit you have! Do you have a pic?

Read the instructions carefully - some models have the volume controls "reversed" ie clockwise to decrease volume!

It's a pro sport 7, i tested helmet to helmet, I am sure i don't have vol controls, just the vox control which is turned fully clockwise.I have tried moving the speakers but they seem as close to my ears as is poss.

all the instruction leaflets from autocom I have seen stress the importance of correct speaker position...as even a slightly off position greatly affects both quality and volume of sound. have you got the booklet, if not

i.e. RTFM:D
also
check vox control as if you have turned it the "wrong" way, (ie so vox triggers at low noise levels, then what you are hearing is the volume cut by 50% buy the vox operation!!!)....so ask yourself when/at what speed/noise level do you hear the vox cut in?

as a matter of personal preference...I hate the idea of having to have so much volume on to effectively "burn through" earplugs....why not go for in ear monitors, so that external noise is much reduced and you can hear your chosen sounds at much lower and less damaging level??:rob

Excellent suggestion had to do the same when changing helmets meant I could obtain an optimum fit for comfort without affecting speaker performance - never looked back and still maintain the best system I've used is an Autocom with custom monitors - in fact like them so much I ended up selling them (both).

The Pro7 and older proM1 had a plug in volume adapter. It's just a 3.5mm(or 2.5mm) jack plug that has the two pins soldered together and then has a bit of heat shrink crimped over the terminals. Then it just plugs in.
If you're missing that it will be quiet. I had to make one for the misses's second hand set we bought to go to bike to bike coms a few years back.

Just had a look at one of mine and it plugs in the whole marked 'Speech Level, High/Low'
