My Bike Is Poorly :(

Plugs already swapped Nu1. New HT lead ordered. Price was down to £32 when I phoned the second time. :nenau

Start bike, misfiring more than usual but ticking over. Solenoid style ticking coming from right side on misfire, from cylinder head as far as I can tell.

You mean valve train noise:(

An update to the saga. Swapped plugs with new and swapped HT leads around. Both fine and sparks to both plugs. Head cover of right cylinder shows no damage.

The electrical snapping noise has gone but the bike is really rough. I checked fuel is getting to both injectors. This morning I started it up and it was fine :nenau and it ran perfect.

My thinking is the right injector is faulty. Do these usually just stop working or can they misbehave?

Misfiring

Just consider for a moment, if you dient have a bike what would you do with all the spare time you'd have, with nothing going wrong. Think I'die of boredom (or electrocution following Mr S's advice!)
Happy christmas to all, keep the faults comming so we all got somthing to read about.

Well it's been perfect today as well :nenau so I'm thinking the Hall Sensor is on it's way out. Occasional mis-timing and bad idle seem to be problems people have with the sensor is faulty. Doesn't explain that electrical style tapping though does it?

Odd noise now coming from the front when cold and first started, like a belt slipping. Goes quick though.

How much are the hall sensors to replace?

I'd very much like to create a quick LED fault readers but this is just for the 1100 is seams ?

?

Bad idle could also be a faulty TPS unit.

Odd belt slipping noise COULD be your belt slipping .

cam chain tensioner - LHS :thumb

don't worry 'bout it

The bike's been perfect now for days and I don't know if I should order a new sensor at £131 or just leave the bugger 'cause I can't be arsed with it :nenau

Is there an LED style motronic fault detector I can use like that of the 1100 where one counts the flashes?

IT'S FECKING FIXED!!!!!! :thumb :thumb :D :thumb :thumb :thumb :thumb

The voltage was jumping THROUGH the HT Lead and grounding on the cylinder. Although the HT Lead is fine if it gets pulled over to the side over time the voltage goes through BMW's cheap quality cable.

Fixed with some elect tape and some bits of rubber to normalise the gap. Now perfect.:thumb

 Get it running in the dark and see if theres any sparks flying about any cracks in ht leads will show up, if you are hearing a noise it should show up in the dark. Don't touch it while it's running.

That's how I found the problem Davy boy. No cracks in HT Lead it's just crap shielding.
