My First GS.

Just picked up my first GS1150 with 15000 miles on (51 plate) and wondered if there were some pearls of wisdom that i could be made aware of with this type of bike, do's, dont's and thinks to watch out for from the off so as to have trouble free riding.
I will browse through eventually. But in a nut shell whats the advice ?.

Hello Macca welcome to the wonderful of GS'ing, there is loads of info on here, if you can't find it the someone will know on here, the only thing you must do is enjoy, the only other thing i would reccomend is to become a site sponsor

General

There are loads of 'quirks' that make your GS different from more mainstream fodder; from the 'whir-clunk' on setting off (ABS reset) to oil consumption and checking the level. The more you ride it, the more familiar you'll become with it's little ways. reading the FAQ's on here is not a bad place to start.
