sell it if you can't afford it![]()
it's a question of not being ripped off. The guy asked a legitimate question and with the exception of your worthless post, has been given the support and advice he needs.

but what can you do apart from not buy one.The amount of money BMW are making
From a recent quote I had, Park Lane charge £78 per hour + VAT compared with SBW (Sawbridgeworth) at £48 per hour + VAT for labour
TENTOONE said:Get used to it...however, feeling the pain that comes from being ripped off by these places for their oil alone, might I suggest that the GS Club contacts a Silkolene rep and become a dealer for the oil? Before you say ''Yeah right''...we have done this local to where I live and now enjoy purchasing oil at trade prices.
One small thing but will save quite a few £ every service.

Same goes for spare parts.
PhilM said:First service, yesterday, on my 1200 at John Clark Aberdeen, as I was reminded when I booked it in "You do know that BMW no longer pay for the first service, you should have been told when you bought it". Doesn't matter as I was expecting to pay after what I read on here.
So:
Seal ring: £0.25
Oil filter: £7.45
Oil Castrol GP 20/50: £25.20
Labour (more than usual as we had to remove and refit your engine bars): £141.44
Therefore inc vat = £204.85
Ah, the pleasures of owning a piece of finely honed teutonic engineering. The amount of money BMW are making and they won't give you a free first service but what can you do apart from not buy one.
Small point, on all my Jap bikes the first service wasn't free, you just didn't pay for the labour.
I found the first servicebought the bike from John Clarke

With a name like "Park Lane" in London, they can probably charge what they like. Doesn't make it right though.![]()
