It can only be a matter of time before a manufacturer will develop a hydrolic centre stand run by a power take off the engine, something like two vertical rams, simples

Just arrived home and this thread's going through my head whilst I'm putting the GS into the garage and onto it's centre stand, even with just an uneven floor it's easy to see how the extra effort needed to lift it could over stress a calf muscle.
Being super careful now ... in January I suffered a full acromiun clavicle separation when I forgot to remove the disc lock before setting off ... in plain language I tore my collar bone from my shoulder when I hit the hard stuff
Two months since surgery and finally back on the bike. Weird how the physiotherapy I'm needing is many times more painful than the original injury, although at the time picking up the GS did smart a little!

Standing on the lever to put the bike on the centre stand shouldn't require any more effort on the legs than standing on a step. It should be your body weight that does the work not your calf muscles.
I sympathise with the shoulder issue, came off a mountain bike and hit a massive tree 7 months ago and still not fully repaired! Shoulder are bloody horrible things to repair!
I agree my bike is much harder to rock back onto centre stand, I am seriously considering a lifting handle that are on sale ,especially the Wunderlich at N/N.
Has any one got one ? Does it help? Even the pannier rack cuts into your hand when pulling up.

Time to down size to a scooter for you lot, there is also the added benefit of fresh air blowing on your vaginas
I weigh 73kg and all I do is stand on the centre stand bar one hand on the handle bar other on the frame just to steady it and up she comes. No lifting no pushing down with leg, just apply my mass.
