I've just finished a fantastic tour of South America on my 06 GSA 1200. 7000 miles, 6 countries, in 6 weeks. Some of the worst roads I've ever riden and much of it (Southern Bolivia, lots of Peru) on unpaved roads. The bike was really put through its paces and got a lot of abuse as well as demanding high miles every day. It preformed extraordinary well; never missed a beat. Engine was sweet as nut no matter how long or high I rode (up to 4800 mts) or how crappy the petrol was. I was by far it's weakest component which caused me to drop it a couple of times in the thick sand covered roads of Bolivia. So how much maintenance did this bike need during the trip? Checked the oil every few days; didn't need a drop. Only thing to go wrong.... had to change headlight bulb!
It is an amazing bike and I was very pleased it was the my choice for this amazing trip
I'll raise a glass to the GSA
