Well lads,

My 1150 is not running at all right. She is chocking and spluttering in the high revs and just about thicking over in the low revs. She's booked in with Joe Duffys but they had a quick look today and said that they are not sure what could be causing it.

I changed the filter and the oil yesterday and the plugs where changed by Joe Duffys two weeks ago but it's made no differance

Did anyone ever experiance this. I filled up about two weeks ago woth bad fuel and it hasn't ran right since. Joe Duffys staff said the filter should be good so their not sure whats up with it.

Fingers rossed it's nothing major or costly.

Check your Vacuum cap

if that is displaced or removed the bike will not run right on that Cylinder

pg

ps Good luck in Chad

Sounds like mine a few months back, changed one of the the coil thingys (We'll I didn't the shop did) now back to normal, its on 72000 miles now.

Single spark or twin spark?
What mileage?

HT plugs onto the sparkplugs maybe suss. These contain coils in the twin spark, even more suss, seemingly.

Not sure which she is.

She was registered in 2000 if thats any good. The speedo says there is 10500 miles on her. Lad that owned her before me says the milage is correct.

@ contact23 I got it in the discount fuel garage on the Naas road. Couldn't remember how many garages where on that road so when the light came on I pulled in and filled up. The minute I start the bike after filling up it ran like shit.
@ philgunn ref: Chad. Thanks man. :thumb

Its single spark if its 2000.

Have you tried steptoes cat code plug (try a search). If its got shit fuel in it look for bad quality fuel jumper settings and put that in the box. That will allow the bike to run on shit quality fuel.

The fuel got drained off that day. Ran for about 80 miles on the shit stuff.

So MY 2000 bikes are single spark. Thanks for that.

Have a chance to get out on her today but don't want to ride her in case I cause more problems. Not a great start to my owning a BMW but sure these things happen. :blast

Fingers crossed joe duffy's will sort it and I can get back to enjoying it. My biggest fear is i'll end up paying a small fortune before it's right but I ordered an adventure beak to be fitted while they have it just to cheer myself up. :thumb

have you lifted the tank off?

check the throttle pulley seats where the cable goes in

Agree if they lifted the tank to drain it I reckon the throttle cable. As per the picture in the font of all knowledge.

Have you looked at the fuel filter. Sounds abit like what happened to me when my filter split in the tank.

I left it into Joe Duffy's there this morning and asked them to change the Filter either way as well as doing the Valve clearence. Fingers crossed that should sort it. At least when I get her back I'll know she's good for 10000 more miles as she's be fully serviced at that stage.

She'll also have her new adverture beak fitted. :D

I'll let you all know later on what Joe Duffy say it was incase anyone has a simular problem in the future.

Thanks.
