Was out at the weekend and it was pretty nippy, but the heated grips just don't seem to make any difference at all, even on the highest setting you just can't feel anything above about 50 mph.

I have to add that I don't have any hand guards on the bike so if you take your hand off the bars to lift your visor or anything the windblast just cools them straight off, you can feel they are both working when going through towns or waiting at traffic lights, but I'm really not impressed with them.

Any ideas, or are handguards a must in this weather :nenau

they're not pretty

but a pair of good muffs is the best answer. Even in the coldest weather a pair of muffs with heated grips meant I could wear summer gloves.

You really need handguards to get the best out of them:thumb2

The thicker your gloves the less you'll feel any heat.

Muffs and the thinest gloves possible and you'll only need them turned to half heat. :thumb

+1 on muffs.

Just took a 300 km ride today and the grips were on low position. Them and the Oxford muffs and I did not need anything else.

Dan.

Hand guards it is then:thumb

Mind you, I am still wearing my summer gloves so I'm probably expecting too much :augie

Muff diving

This is the way to go they can't be beaten so go for it.

Not really expecting too much as i have gone through the entire winter wearing summer Alpinestars SP2 gloves, Mine has handguards fitted though which keeps off the breeze apart from the end of my thumbs

If i was doing any real distance on my commute each day i would have gone for a set of muffs but for my 20 mile commute not neccessary ;)
