On the face of it that sounds like fairly shoddy service from Park Lane BMW to me. Understand what they are saying about them being non BMW but they were happy enough to sell them with the bike so they must be covered by some kind of warranty, or so I would have thought. If not, tell Park Lane you would like the original dipped beam light put back on.

If you have no joy with them you could try Steptoe on here - he's a legend in his own mind when it comes to things mechanical, sure he can manage the electric bits too.

Thanks for the tip. I think I'll try putting something in writing to park lane bmw, maybe with a copy going to motorcycle news and see how that goes.. As I do get a bit annoyed when I try to talk to them over the phone!

Will copy my previous email to steptoe, as any advice I could get would be welcomed.

It would mean a trip up to me, but I could take a look at them, if that helps, and before you came up have a spare in stock incase it was a unit fail.

Where abouts are you? I am in cheshire (wilmslow) on monday 2nd july with work. But was planning on spending the weekend in manchester seeing a few pals. So its possible I could pop in. Sorry I couldn't open your link, have you got a parts shop or something?

I'm in Congleton, just down the road from Wilmslow, I don't have a parts shop but I do fit the HiD's to GS's, all kits supplied from Colebatch, but I now always carry a spare set or can get a set.

And Monday's are no problem as I don't work them

just road from london to cumbria, was great riding around the lakes. This is first lengthy trip, and the speedo has stopped working now too!! I'm sure there is something playing up with all the electrics.

Had a better look at the lighting system and I'm not impressed at all. It's not well secured on the frame inbetween the forks (with cable ties) and it bangs against the forks when the handlebars are fully turned to the left. The side lights are falling off!

I'm going back to park lane bmw and they they can sort it out! I just want them to rip it all out and put standard bmw parts in. I'd like to get the HID lamps but I'm not sure they'll fork out for that.

Give me a call and let me have a look at the set up, most proberly sort it out and you can keep the system installed

Lights now working great. I recommend you to anyone reading this post who wants Hids fitted.

Cheers for working on my bike as if it belonged to you. I also enjoyed my spin around buxton, nice roads and not too many cars!
