Well I finally landed a GS. Sold my old R80RT in the summer, bought a 1200RT to replace it, great bike but I still hankered after something older. Old airheads seem to have got very scarce, or expensive, so I started looking at seventies/eighties Japs on Gumtree and Done Deal, went and looked at a couple of right loads of sh***e. Funny how some guys get selective amnesia when they are advertising. Anything that seemed half decent was either out of my budget, or somebody else got there before me. I had more or less given up when I saw that Big Fella was offering his 1100 GS here. Long story short, I ended up buying the bike and it certainly looks like one of my better decisions! Instead of buying a tarted up piece of crap from some joker looking to make a killing, I bought an honest old bike from a genuine enthusiast for smallish money. I rode it the 60 miles home in howling wind and pissing rain and enjoyed every mile. There are a few jobs to be done, like getting it registered in NI and removing the ABS so it will pass the MOT, but I am very pleased with the bike. So I'm looking forward to putting a few miles on the old girl when the temperature gets a few degrees above freezing.:bounce1

Good luck with the bike Steady !! Seems like you got a good deal... :beerjug:

Ya didn't buy something off Tom did ya

Only joking ;)
Well done Eddie. I wondered if it was you who'd snaffled it.
Now you've a proper bike for those Fermanagh boreens. So, when are ya organising a spin ?

joch - anything they go for wont be as bad as some of the scary you take people on :dabone :D

Had my eye on that bike too, good luck with it. Will be looking for something myself in the next few months, currently considering either a GS or an XT660Z.

Best of luck with it Eddie.
