My new S10 ZE

A cheapo fender extender from ebay has lasted 2 years / 18,000 miles on mine.

I have a Givi Airflow screen, I liked the one on my GS so put one on the S10, works very well if you can put up with the looks.

Not using a hugger, but have protective clear plastic sheet stuck on swingarm to stop it getting stone chipped. Same on front of forks.

Don't forget to ACF it before you start riding around on salty roads.

I like the look BUT the exhaust simpply ruins it, oversized, heavy looking and ugly - just ruins what otherwise looks great!

Don't think givi do one for the 2014 yet.

ACF soon to go on the bike ready for winter.

Understand what you mean about the exhaust, but I am not looking at it when I am riding!

Still enjoying riding it.

Tested one 3 years ago when I bought the gsa, loved it but wanted a 32 litre tank and my wife found it uncomfortable on the back and the oe luggage was a joke.

Tested the newer model this summer and again thought it was excellent but they haven't improved pillion comfort at least in relation to my wife and I would still prefer a 32 litre tank.

If they introduce an adventure model with a big tank I would do sonething about the pillion seating myself and buy one tomorrow junking the gsa wc double quick time

What's the obsession with the huge tank?

I find the 23L on the Yamaha far better than the 19L on the GS, both did 10-12 mile per litre most of the time, so looking for fuel at about 160 miles on the GS which seemed a bit too often on fast cruises where the mpg was at the low end and the light came on at about 140 miles, the Yamaha still plugs away to about 170 miles before fuel warning (and has about an extra 10 miles on "reserve") which gives a nice 2 hour of motorway minimum.

Extra foam in the pillion seat works wonders (I used Tony Archer) as the Mrs also reckoned GS had a better seat, but she preferred the smoother running and better rear suspension of the S10 - but we both missed the telelever front end when having to haul up quick.

Yes apart from blown fork seals which meant the brakes had fork oil on them so he had to take it easy .

The 2 bikes (both BMW s )that are missing from the photo made a turn west the day before . The reason was the f800 couldn't cope with the heavy rain so diverted to the nearest dealer in Tromso . The other BMW went with him to help if he broke down on the way , oh and to get his sat nav fixed !!!

[nods] We have a GSA and a ZE and I do miss the range of the GSA when we're out on the S10. It is a good bike though. Replacing the seats and moving the Tourate luggage rack back has made it a lot more comfortable for my wife.
