My toilet on the recovery van ....

I managed 1,000 km before recovery

Great night last night: bike would to start. WOULD NOT START. Kicked the starter over fine and computer reported 12.1v from battery. Check engine light on.

BMW road side assistance not much good but can't blame them really: all the electronics mean these things can't be fixed on the side of the road. The best road side assistance could do was disconnect the battery, reconnect it and try to start it again.

3 hours later, loaded in the van. Waiting to see what Monday brings.

Must be a first for me . 2 days old and 50 miles,I have an oil leak from the head gasket :( . Going back to NOG . Polak mechanic said that any leak should have been apparent ,when the bike was PDI'ed . When he started the bike up it started to dribble like a syphilitic cock
Oil under the bike all the way to the shock:eek:

It's probably sulking cos you only did 25 miles a day :D GOod luck getting it back ASAP

As these 'Faults' have cropped within a ridiculously short time, what are you guys saying to the dealers?

Are you simply allowing them to repair the faults or are you rejecting the bike and demanding a new replacement?

Serious question as I have rejected two cars in the past when faults occurred within less than 100 miles. The Dealers had to agree and gave us new replacements.

The last thing I would want is a brand new motor taking to bits with the potential can of worms that can lead to...

I would NOT allow a brand new engine to be split in half! :nono

Tell NOG they just got themselves a new demo bike!

They are hardly splitting it in half:blast If they aren't capable of removing the head and sticking a new gasket in, I wouldn't really want them going anywhere near my bike for a service

They weren't capable of sticking in the new gasket & installing the head. :D

I thought with the 'supposed' million miles of testing before launch then these glitches would have been a thing of the past :(

All the stick 1200 owners got from 1150's - Now 1200 Hex can stick it to 1200 LC :D :D

Think these faults are appalling on such low miles

Look .... (sigh)

I know the OP must be pretty pissed off, but find me a make, model, manufacturer that hasn't had 100% ... 100% reliability straight out the factory.

I bet there are dozens of Honda VFR's going back to the dealer for some relatively minor glitch - a slipping clutch.. duff battery .. damaged head gasket ..

Feck me, look at Toyota with their brake recalls on new cars.

Law of averages and all that, not every bike is going to be perfect ...

(24 hours to go ... oh feck .... :eek)

:D

I once read that Honda had produced over a million V-Tec systems & never had a failure ... not one .. nadda .. nanno ..nil point!

Go talk to a Honda tech about that one, apparently the answer lies in how you define the "system"

Could this be the result of bikes being rushed out to meet demand:eek

Seems like the PDI checks need to be tightens up . Mind you in fairness to the dealer they wouldn't be checking how tight the heads are torqued up.

After the excitement of getting a brand new bike having issues is a real kick in the plums:(
I know how this feels my 990adv let me down within the first 1000k:blast

All these problems seem to be with you "new" owners. If like myself, engineer, probably Nutty and few others, you'd all stopped fanny'in around with test rides and just got one on day 1 (March 2nd) you'd have none of these problems. Ours were all probably assembled under strick observation from BM QC and double checked by QA....... Come to end of May, they had lost interest and any old Heinrich or Jurgen could chuck one together while the QA and QC chaps were in the bierkeller !!!

You only have yourselves to blame!!!!!
