Hope it's something simple, hate it when I have something wrong with the bike!!

Hi Could it be the filler cap not tight as it is on the right side, there's not much else would have been touched during the service apart from the oil filter and that's on the left.
hope all ends ok and it is only as simple as the above.

Terry

Possible the plug boot ...

... which is easy to nip-up when changing the plug or doing the valves; or at least I found it so on my 11**'s  Easy enough to check, just take the plug out and look down the hole, anything other than perfect symmetry and it is caught.

Check the rocker bolts, they may have been removed during the service and might need tweaking up a tad.

Thanks for the advice but it's going back to the dealer, there is even a fine mist on the akro exhaust, although I was making very rapid progress yesterday

Just check the rocker cover is tight, if it isn't then tighten it and save yourself a trip. The bike won't fail as a result.

Right, spoke to dealership on phone today, they suspect it might be a grommet behind the starter motor? Apparently a known issue? Bike going in Saturday will update later

Confirmed is a seal relating to starter motor, 3rd one they have come across, bike will be ready in a few days. Suggest you keep an eye out. 1st symptoms will be fine mist of oil on boot.
Still like the bike, used rain mode today and it was very compliant, might use rain mode when in traffic and around town.

I'm sure all the shit replies will now start flying in but I really don't get it. I have an early 2013 LC, which I must say I've been lucky with, no real problems at all. It has the 5 modes, Dynamic, Road, Rain, Enduro, Enduro Plus. It is always in Dynamic and I control the bike on that thing called a throttle! Dry, whack the fucker open, rain, be gentle. Why the fuck do we need throttle modes? . Fully appreciate ABS, would have saved my arse many times in the past but throttle modes! All this electronic shit seems to have taken away "the feel for the bike". In my yoof on a triumph tiger 500, if it was icy I was bloody carefull with my right hand.

I also think the modes are unnecessary and should be an option. Same goes for traction control.

They are an option, you don't have to use them!
I've been riding for 43 years now (f*ck I'm getting old) and I appreciate all the help I can get, I love having the option even if I don't use it...
