Mysterious Random cutting out

That would be fantastic!

The bike does run a bit rich.. The exhaust pipe gets black pretty quickly.

Thanks for your offer to send stuff with your brother too. I don't think I'll need anything but that's very kind of you to offer:beerjug:

I later heard that some folk (dealers too) pulled the CCP and then adjusted the CO pot to compensate. This would probably ring true as to why it runs like shite when you put a CCP back in.

Very interesting! That could well be the case with mine. If I were to adjust the CO pot after fitting a beige CCP, which way would I turn it?

Clockwise to weaken mix.
I will go and take a pic of which ones to link to make a beige CCP :thumb2

Heres a pic taken from the left side of the bike, as you can see the beige CCP just links the top centre and centre contacts, good luck.the pot is an endless type, turn it too far and it goes back to the beginning.

Well today I tried emulating the CCP but the engine would not even start..

Tried messing with the CCP but it didn't really do anything. Tried multiple turns etc and didn't seem to change a thing. Mmm .. Maybe I'm missing something?

I did reseat the motronic relay and apply some acf-50 to the pins. The bike has yet to cut out again.. well almost. I gave it some herb on a quick jaunt today and it cut outwhile accelarating with hi revs. This time it lurched a bit first then died. Started on the second try though.:nenau

Turning the CO pot without a meter CO connected is way too hit and miss, when you fitted the CCP emulator did you pull the fuse (5 I think) to reset the moronic? and have you bypassed/nobbled the sidestand switch yet?

Yeah I know what you mean about the CCP. I kinda regret playing with it now..

I didn't reset the motronic so I'll give it one more try doing that this time.

The side stand was bi passed but I reconnected it as it didn't seem to make any difference.

Er....Stewart....only just seen this, but you know you've got some seriously overrated fuses in there don't you?

Fuses 1,2 and 3 are 15 amp on yours...these are, in turn, Instruments & brake light (4a) Side lights (4a) and RID, which is the only one that SHOULD be 15 amp!

The rest should be (in order) 7.5a (horn) 10a (motronic) 10a (fuel pump) and 4a (heated grips), yet yours are (from the colour anyway) all the same

OOH! thanks for that, I have only ever replaced like with like when I have blown a fuse, I will go through them :thumb2

The pale blue ones we can't tell, but the first three are definitely marked as 15a, so we know those are wrong for sure :thumb2

Stewart...Whatton did a great thingy to print off and stick in the lid of your fusebox......you'll find it HERE.:thumb2

(That's how I knew...I'm not that smart that I actually remembered which was what ;) )

Just a thought - are the fuses the same on the 1100 and the 1150? Whatton's diagram is for the 1150 but Benjah's got an 1100.

Benjah has a couple of threads going at the same time which sorting them may be getting in the way of each other. I think the sidestand switch has been tried before...

Yeah thats true. Apologize if it's getting confusing. Sidestand has been tried and proven innocent.
