Mystery Silencer Bracket

Anyone know what the Bracket which is Welded to the Exhaust Pipe just forward of the Silencer is for. The one with two 10mm holes facing down.

Centre/Side stand stop IIRC

Centrestand...

Newer models stop the centrestand with a frame-mounted tab on the right side of the bike. The older models (mine's a 2005) with the curved centrestand, stopped the stand with a tab mounted to the bracket you are inquiring about.
