The result: The different driving dynamics of two- and four-wheelers pose a risk of misunderstandings - especially for motorcyclists. In order to make the driving experience safer for everyone, cars and motorcycles will be strictly separated in the future. Nordschleife: tourist trips only for motorists

Motorcyclists can still use their balance or season pass on the Grand Prix track.

Applies to the Nordschleife: Credit can only be used for cars.

Return option: If you want to return your season card or balance, you can do so simply at the info°center of the Nürburgring.

when i went , many years ago , it was a worry for the first couple of sessions .
cars are quicker than bikes in a corner , bikes are quicker on the straights.
the bikes know to give the cars room , and the cars know not to be too close the bikes in the corners.
it's when you have 2 idiots at opposite ends of ability , that things go wrong.

From friends who go several times a year and have done for many years...it has simply got more and more dangerous with many newer visitors simply not understanding the massive differences between 2 and 4 wheels. Most of my friends don't do the TF sessions anymore (not insured) and attend to do car only track days.

I’ve seen enough of the hilarious videos with incompetent riders and drivers to make me want to avoid the place.

Besides, it’s a long walk home if you smash up your touring bike.

Certainly the end of an era, back in the 2000's I did Many trips over there. I rode In the region of 308 laps. Loved the place back then.
Then it got too expensive, and I'll add too dangerous.
I had my time there and survived it.
Started travelling on my GSA and haven't looked back.

When I first went on the Ring it cost DM8 per lap. It got progressively more expensive as time passed and as Micky says, I'm glad i've done it when I did. The locals are very unsatisfied with the way the place is being run now, they think that the private Company that's in charge will kill the golden goose. I went round in my car last year. The tarmac was wet and the surface so slippery I was sliding out on bends and I wasn't even trying to go quickly, it was dire. I'm off to Cochem in early June but I won't be visiting the Nordschleif.

Done it a few times 15 or 20 years ago in bike and car. The sheer number of 'Nurburgring fail' videos and first hand reports out there lead me to conclude the standard of driving has declined massively since I was there. Too many folk goofing about, overtaking on the right seems commonplace, and mixing bikes & cars on any track is rarely a good idea. Glad I went, if I was in the area I would go back for the carpark vibe, but I wouldn't ride or drive there anymore.

I've done it twice last time in 2018,thoroughly enjoyed it tbh and was planning a trip this year, it is what it is, keep your wits About you and eyes on your mirrors.
For me the experience was worth (to me) the potential risk.

It wasn’t mad money. Maybe a couple of hundred each, which included a ride in a Ring taxi and also ring guides, taking bikes round in groups, for the first couple of sessions.

Just to visit the place with it's vibe, the hardware and all the viewing points is well worth it. Oh and the beautiful countryside

Thought about having a go round but after watching it decided against it. Went round in a GT3 which was fantastic.

Had a spin round the old circuit in 1984 on a Suzuki GSX1100 fully loaded with camping gear, two up and just wearing jeans and leather jackets as was the style at the time
We had been at a weekend music festival featuring Joe Cocker, Tina Turner and Golden Earring, and from where we were camped we could see bikes going onto a track so decided to investigate when we were leaving on the Sunday.
Handed over a few DM's to an old guy with a cap and leather change bag and off we went not really knowing what it was, a great experience and I did manage to overtake a coach and a VW camper.
It seem to have changed a bit since then

Back in the early 90's Yamaha Europe hired the circuit for two days. It was a well organised annual event (p!ss up) with full board and factory support, lots of freebies and tuition. This was the YZF/FZR era, pre the release of the R1. I only did it the once and it was a great experience, fantastic weather and great roads in the Eiffel Mountains.
About thirty Brits met in a hotel in Dover on a Tuesday night and rode to the circuit the next day.

Two days tuition/riding on the ring, plus a few hours on the GP circuit next door, three nights in a good hotel and free use of the circuit (public day) on the Saturday morning. From memory there were about 150 participants plus all the support and backup.
Sadly one of the guys broke his leg the first evening and a foreign rider lost his life on Saturday.

I recall there was a group from Greece who just couldn't understand the circuit was one way. We had to laugh.

I can't imagine any manufacturer doing this now...times have certainly changed.

Possibly one of the best organised events I've done.
