Is it worth repairing a small nail hole in a tyre? I would have never considered it on a sportsbike but on the GS12 I don't go as quick and also have the tyre pressure sensors. Would you plug or replace? Thanks.
I had the same issue on a 500Km tyre. Took it to BMW - they wouldn't touch it. Their solution was to simply to buy a new tyre.
I plugged it with a "string" type repair kit, which we use on our 4WD tyres. So far (1000 KMs later) no dramas. However, the bike does not go over 110Kms/Hr and I religiously check the pressure levels on the TPM readout before every ride.
Thanks. It is smack in the middle of the tyre and the tyre is under half worn. Can I do it myself with one of those kits with the bugs and pressured cylinders or take it to a dealer?
Use a Tyre Plugger, it's permanent and i doubt a dealer would do the repair.
I was at a popular biker cafe last weekend when a sports bike rider from B'ham asked if I had a can of tyre weld. I told him I could do better than that as I had my tyre plugger kit on the bike.
So with a crowd of his mate watching he was on his way in ten mins. Brilliant piece of kit

If the tyre had enough life in it and the nail was near the centre line I'd get it repaired personally. I had something similar on my VFR and it was fine until the tyre was replaced through normal wear. Cost me a fiver to get it fixed at a tyre place in Yorkshire that I managed to ride in to much to the annoyance of the Triumph Speed Tripple rider having the same thing done who was charged £25. Difference was due to the VFR's single swing arm and underseat exhaust so it was literally like changing a car wheel

Shh, don't tell everyone! No argument from me mate Been here 2.5 years and love it - lovely quiet roads, generally good weather and hardly any speed cameras
