I had my bike treated today by Peter of Supershield Automotive. This is taken from the website and is exactly what he did today:

Deep Clean, Decontamination, Detail Clean, Nano Ceramic Coating (Ideal for Used Vehicles):

Entire vehicle external Pre rinse,
Snowfoam wash and rinse,
Fallout/decontamination (including wheel clean),
Snowfoam with agitation if needed and rinse,
Tar and contamination removal including claying and rinse,
Final hand wash and rinse
Dry using warm air and soft microfibres,
Detail clean of all accessible areas
Isopropyl alcohol cleaning solution wipe down (specifically designed to allow the Nano Ceramic coating to bond strongly with all surfaces)
The vehicle is then coated with Supremecoat Lifeproof Nano Ceramic coating to the entire exterior including the wheels and exhaust. (including interior protect on motorcycle seats and interior of cars etc) Guaranteed for 10 years on new vehicles and 7 on used.

The clean on its own was outstanding, concours standard, it was actually cleaner than when I collected the bike from Vines a month ago.

£330, done at mine. Discounts are available if you are an IAM member or follow a certain former Police Officer on social media.

Thanks. I don’t see whereabouts in the country they operate. Are they mobile and nationwide like franchise ?

Pete came to me in Surrey. He’s got a number of guys across the UK that travel to your door.

It may be a good job but that is very expensive to clean your bike and put some treatment on it.!!

Some people spend over a grand on panniers and never truly use them. Some people spend hours cleaning their bikes. Some people only ride them when the weathers good. Some people spent similar money on a magic ECU upgrade that may or may not have worked.

My bikes used 5 days a week in all weathers. Having used ACF50 on numerous bikes over the years it’s good, but technology has given us better options.

And I don’t have the time or inclination to clean it to exacting standards after every ride.

It’s guaranteed for 7 years, and I’m looking at it as an investment because it protects better than anything else on the market and reduces cleaning time.

It’s not a panacea but it’s something that will be used 5 days a week.

And so away will go the thread by magic.

Appears to be £120 with Mo-clean, wonder if there are different qualities in the solution ?

There are loads of products on the market, and from the reviews the customers opinion seems mixed.

There’s no mention of a guarantee and people seem to be going back yearly.

Guess it’s like everything else - subjective. The explanation on the TeapotOne YouTube video is far better than I could give.

I’m happy, and the service included paint restoration that got rid of the swirls (not me as I hadn’t washed it in the month I’d owned it).

It’s all in the eye of the beholder I guess.

I paid to have ceramic coating on my new car outside and in

5 year grantee on the stuff although what that covers I have no idea but at the moment it certainly beads water off and dirt is just rinsing off so fingers crossed it is worth it

when I bought my 4x4 we had it as a option... it made cleaning the vehicle really easy as said before the drit just lifts off... using lotus flower nano technology.... by which the acceptance angle of dirt is reduced to less that 270 degrees... and that inspiation came from nature as lotus flowers don't get dirty...

apparently...

I had a quick google, but am none the wiser.
WHAT is guaranteed ? Under what circumstances could somebody claim and then what would they actually get if the claim was successful?

It is were as effective as a proper drenching in ACF-50 for each winter for 7 years, then I can see the appeal- but there's no mention of protection against corrosion that I can see?

I don't think any on the manufacturers will give you a cast iron warranty, not without a test that the individual pays for upfront and meets certain criteria... on my 4x4 the coating sort of disappeared after 6ish years the truck took longer to clean... so I just cleaned it less :)

I was invited to tender for a watch contract and we supplied samples the cerakote "E" extreme coating we use is for machine gun barrels has a very high resistance to wear... when we mentioned the testing needed to be do to set a warranty limit, the watch people who's products cost in the region of 25K told me I had to offer that...

So I explained we could only do it if we used a spray robot and carried out a wear test equivalent to 20 years... more importantly they needed to pay for the tooling and testing... which we'd both sign off on...

They again told me I had to offer that or wouldn't get the contract the valaue was over 250K so worth having a pop at...

I turned them down... cos this was a simple risk issue...

it's the same with any custom/ retro fit system

liability would be limited to the value of the stuff... and defective application the best you'd get back what you have paid

I have absolutely no idea why you are talking about. Maybe too many pre-match Guinness, but do you supply parts for wristwatches or machine guns ?

sorry it's abit unclear

I currently supply machine guns to the rich and famous, we also build, convert and restore'em for film and TV. right now we supply cerakote to a sportscar, hyper car builder for their exhaust system that reaches around 800 degrees C.

We also coat production equipment, custom strange things I can't workout what the hell it is...

A few months so back I got asked to do a limited run of watches for a UK manufacturer, 8 pieces per watch 2,000 watches

I've got 5,000 chairs to sort out... which is becoming a pain in the neck... 10,000 electrical plugs need doing... for someone...

and randomly did a monkey bike exhaust a while back...
